Art in the Time of Plague
Speedy Granda Gallery, Charoenkrung 24
Words from the Collective
Art in the time of plague is a visual diary which expresses and expands several aspects of the self-quarantine session whether in the present time or in the historical one.
The zine consists of rough scribbles, illustrations and sets of photography, all combined as the collective’s personal narrative and the artwork itself, the collaboration of four art workers during the Covid-19 quarantine session in Thailand. The collective was inspired by such a bizarre experience and started to inquire how the pandemic affects people in the art field, therefore, they explore each incident of these pandemics which occurred before and revise it as a related context as now.
Throughout the pandemic, the relationship between quarantine and Isolation could be extended in a twisted way, such as the beginning of new communication, a battleground to be productive and unproductive. Either way, The situation is open for interpretation and this project is one way to do so.
