Artist Biography

Natthorn Tansurat (b. 1996) is a Thai-Chinese installation artist and design practitioner based in Bangkok. She graduated from Silpakorn University. Drawing from both disciplines, her practice moves across field research, writing, installation, and moving image. She is interested in things that exist at the margins of attention, and power dynamics in different shapes and forms, which can be expressed through floral, minority communities, or post-internet culture that are often considered ordinary or undesirable.

Her work often begins with a question about the meaning of value shaped through cultural, social, and environmental contexts, then expands through cultural research, community conversation, and sensory experiences, inviting participants to encounter the subject from a fresh perspective.

Her research through the process animates a practice that moves between the personal and the political, finding the smallest crack, the most intimate entry, to convey a greater narrative.
